Picking
Pick lists for outbound orders — create Non-Order and Order picks, scan barcodes and manage the four-stage picking lifecycle.
Section 01
What is Picking?

A picking list tells warehouse operators exactly what to pull, in what quantities, and from which warehouse — reserving stock on creation and consuming it on confirmation.
- Two types: Non-Order (standalone) or Order (linked to a works order or job schedule)
- Lifecycle: Created → Picking → Submitted → Collected. Stock is consumed when Collected.
- Scan individual items via the Tracked Stock toggle, or use Pick BOM to pick sub-components of an assembly — both covered in Section 04.
Picking lists can be automatically generated when a work order is created (if auto-picking is enabled during work order setup). These appear in the picking list pre-linked to the work order with status Not Started.
Section 02
The picking list

Navigate to Warehouse → Picking to view all picking lists. Use the Filter by product dropdown to narrow results. Each row shows the picking number, name, notes, warehouse, current status, scheduled picking date, type and a View Details action.

Creating a picking list — Non-Order

Click + Add Picking to open the picking creation form. The form has four sections: General (name and notes), Picking For (standalone or order-linked), Details (date, warehouse, status), and Item List (inventory search and item selection).

For Assembly items, the Pick BOM toggle lets you pick the sub-components of the assembly rather than the assembly itself — useful when the assembly is built from stock rather than held as a finished unit.
Section 04
Creating a picking list — Order (linked)

Selecting Order in the Picking For section reveals a works order selection table. Choose the works order to pick for — the item list then shows a toggle between All Items (full inventory) and Works Order Items (only items linked to the selected works order).

Picking detail record

Click View Details on any picking list row to open the full picking record. The record shows the current lifecycle step, all linked order details, a QR code for warehouse scanning, quick stats and the full picking line table.

Section 06
Barcode scanning

To scan barcodes against a picking line, enable the Tracked Stock toggle on that item's row in the Picking List table. Turning the toggle on opens the Scan a Product modal — operators then scan the item's barcode with a camera or external scanner, or enter it manually, to record the picked quantity against that line. The Print Barcode footer button is separate and only prints or downloads the picking list's QR code for physical attachment.
In the Picking List table, find the row for the item you want to scan. Flip the Tracked Stock toggle to ON — this opens the Scan a Product modal for that specific line. Scan the product barcode and the Picked Qty updates automatically. Print Barcode (footer button) is for printing the pick's QR label only — it does not open the scan modal.

Section 07
Editing a picking list

Click Edit Picking from the detail footer to open the edit form. The edit form shows which works order the pick is linked to (read-only for Order picks), and allows editing of Notes, Warehouse, Status, and the Item List. Items can be added or removed.

Stock is reserved when the pick is raised. If you remove items from the pick during editing, the reservation is released back to available stock. If you add items, additional stock is reserved.
Section 08
Picking lifecycle

Every picking list moves through a four-stage lifecycle. Stock is reserved at stage 1 (Created) and consumed at stage 4 (Collected):
