Issues
How to report, view and resolve issues in Brytebuild — from any module using the Report Issue button, or from Operations > Issues using the full form.
How issues are raised
Report from any module
2 minutes
The most common way to raise an issue is directly from the record it concerns — without leaving the page. Every record in Brytebuild that supports issues has a Report Issue button (amber) in its footer action bar.
Clicking Report Issue slides in a compact Report a Problem panel. The record context (location and ID) is pre-filled automatically — the operator just describes the problem. The panel has 4 steps.

When you raise an issue from a specific record, the Issue Location (module type and record ID) is set automatically. The panel has 4 steps — General Information, Images, Supporting Files, and Status & Action — and is designed to be filled in quickly on the shop floor. Only the Issue Name is required.

You can also raise an issue from the Issues list in the sidebar. This opens the full 5-step form — identical to the compact panel but with an extra Issue Location step (you choose the module and record manually, since there is no pre-filled context).
General Information
The name and description of the issue
| Field | Required | What to enter |
|---|---|---|
| Issue Name | Yes | A clear, descriptive name — e.g. "M8 bolt missing from BOM pick", "Bracket misaligned — wrong jig". Operators and managers see this in the issues list. |
| Description | No | A rich text field for the full description — what happened, where, when and what impact it has. Images and links can be embedded here. |
Issue Location
Which area of the system this issue relates to
Select the module type first, then choose the specific record from the searchable table that appears below.
Once you pick a module, a table appears showing all records in that module — e.g. all purchase orders, all picking runs. Select the specific record the issue relates to. The table has Print, Download Excel and Search controls.
