Warehouses
Warehouses are your physical storage sites — add locations, track stock takes, view the warehouse map and manage coordinates resolved automatically from your address.
Section 01
What are Warehouses?
1 minute
A Warehouse in Brytebuild represents one of your physical storage sites. Each warehouse has its own address, map coordinates, and layout of shelf locations. Stock is always held within a specific warehouse, and barcode containers are assigned to positions inside it.
- You can create multiple warehouses — e.g. Main warehouse, Example, or dedicated distribution sites
- One warehouse is set as the active warehouse for your session — this is used as the default when scanning, picking and despatching
- Adding an address automatically resolves map coordinates (latitude/longitude) via Komoot — no manual entry needed
- Each warehouse tracks its own stock takes — both real-time and full count — visible in the Stock tab
- The warehouse feeds into the Warehouse Designer (where you build shelf layouts) and the Warehouse Viewer (live stock view)
The active warehouse is set per session. When you switch the active warehouse, scanning barcodes, viewing stock positions and running stock takes will all default to the new active site. You can change it at any time from the warehouse detail record.

Adding a warehouse

A unique name to identify this warehouse across the platform
Address

| Field | Required | What to enter |
|---|---|---|
| Warehouse Name | Required | A unique name for this site — e.g. Main warehouse, London Distribution Centre. Used across the platform in barcode lists, picking, and delivery orders. |

Section 06
Editing a warehouse
1 minute
Click Edit Warehouse in the Actions panel to open the Edit Warehouse form. The form is pre-filled with the warehouse's current details. An amber warning bar reminds you that changing the address will automatically re-resolve the map coordinates on save. The Warehouse ID is shown in the header badge for reference.
Edit Warehouse
Updating details for Main warehouse — coordinates are re-resolved from the address on save.
Warehouse Identity
The unique name used to identify this warehouse across the platform
Address
Physical location — updating this will re-resolve map coordinates on save
If you change the address and save, Brytebuild will automatically call Komoot to resolve the new latitude and longitude. The current stored coordinates (51.543258 / -0.103413 for Main warehouse) are shown so you can see what will be replaced. If you do not change the address, the coordinates remain unchanged.
