Two minutes on why this exists, then straight into how it works. If you already know why you are here, skip to how the whole thing connects — that is the article that actually teaches the product.

Part 01

Three things a spreadsheet cannot do

2 minutes

A spreadsheet records what you decided. It does not model what is true. These three gaps are structural — you cannot close them by being tidier.

It cannot…So this happens
Know what is already promisedThe sheet says 40 blanks. It does not say 32 are spoken for by Thursday's job. Everyone reads 40, someone commits them twice, and you find out on the shop floor.
Follow a part down through an assemblyA customer moves an order forward a week. The real question is whether you have everything underneath it and the time to build — several levels down a bill of materials, changing every time anything else moves.
Remember whySix months on, nobody can say why that batch was scrapped, who signed it off, or which supplier the bad steel came from. The information existed and was never written anywhere that survives.
The short version

Everything Brytebuild does follows from keeping one record that everyone reads, instead of several that disagree. Stock stops being a single number, purchasing becomes arithmetic rather than instinct, and you can finally answer what a job actually earned.

Part 02

What it will not do

1 minute

  • Fix bad data. If your bills of materials are wrong, it will plan the wrong things faster than you did by hand.
  • Decide for you. It tells you a job is short and late. Whether to expedite, substitute or call the customer stays yours.
  • Survive being half-used. Recording goods in but not goods out produces numbers worse than none, because people still trust them.
That last one is the whole game

Nearly every struggling rollout traces back to a movement someone stopped recording. It is worth knowing that before you start, not after.

Part 03
