When Bottel Cap shows -7 total stock, the History tab tells you exactly what happened. Look for Despatched, QC Consume, Adjustment or Scrap movements with quantities that exceed Received or Produced movements. The container column shows where each movement happened, pinpointing which warehouse is causing the deficit.

The Cost & valuation tab shows the financial picture: the weighted-average actual cost derived from real stock receipts, versus the standard cost typed at registration, and the resulting variance. For Bottel Cap the actual cost is significantly higher than the standard cost.

Bottel Cap's Standard Cost (£20.00) is far below the Actual Cost (£99.66). This creates a large unfavourable variance on every purchase. Review and update the Standard Cost via Edit Item to keep COGS reporting meaningful. The Actual Cost will always self-correct as new receipts arrive — you do not need to edit it manually.

Units tab

The Units tab shows the base unit and any alternate units of measure. Alternate units let you buy or sell in a different unit — Brytebuild converts to the base unit automatically. Bottel Cap has 1 alternate unit: tst.

Stock, price and cost are kept in the base unit ea. Add alternate units to let this product be bought or sold in a different unit — the factor says how many ea one of that unit equals.
