We publish a short note each quarter covering what actually shipped, partly so customers can see whether the things they asked for arrived, and partly because a product page that never changes tells you nothing about whether anyone is still working on it.
Quality and compliance
The largest body of work this quarter went into the quality system. Internal audit and management review are now complete to ISO 9001 clause 9, which means an audit runs with an independent auditor, produces findings, and cannot be closed until every non-conformance has been driven through to a closed corrective action. Management review pulls its inputs from live quality, supplier and inspection data rather than requiring somebody to assemble a pack by hand, and freezes them as evidence on completion.
A quarantine register was added alongside it, giving a single view of stock held for inspection or rejected, with the source document, the governing inspection plan and how long it has been sitting there. Stock can be placed on hold, released, or escalated into a numbered non-conformance from the same screen.
Planning
Demand forecasting now feeds the MRP run. Forecast demand can be included in the plan net of confirmed orders, so there is no double counting, and the resulting recommendations are marked as forecast-driven so you can see which are which. Time-phased planning was added as a read-only view: the conventional week-by-week grid of gross requirements, scheduled receipts, projected availability and planned orders, reconciled against the run that produced it.
Stock and costing
Landed cost is captured at goods-in and allocated into receipt unit cost, so freight, duty, insurance and handling reach product margins and job costing rather than sitting in overhead. Expiry and FEFO were surfaced properly, with shelf life captured at receipt, an expiry register, daily notifications for stock approaching its date, and one-click quarantine of expired lots.
Engineering
Change impact analysis on an engineering change order now walks recursively through where-used and reports affected open orders. During that work we found that it only walked product bills of materials and missed work instructions entirely, which meant fifty-nine item-carrying bills belonging to a guide were invisible to it, covering forty-seven parts. That is fixed, and change impact now reports affected work instructions separately.
What did not ship
Multi-factor authentication remains unbuilt and is deferred until a customer needs it. Multi-currency is not started; pricing is GBP only. Integrations remain push, with payment reconciliation pulling back from Xero only, and Shopify, QuickBooks and Magento are not built.
